Summer 2025

• Participated in clinical seminars led by Baylor faculty, including Dr. Angela Haskins and Dr. Derek Erstad

• Practiced medical procedures such as suturing and wound debridement in simulation labs

• Engaged in small group discussions on medical ethics, patient care, and physician communication

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center

AY2024 — 2025

• Shadowed in the Interventional Radiology department with Dr.  Darryl  Smith

• Observed arthritis-related procedures including fluoroscopy-guided knee injections, aspiration of synovial fluid, and corticosteroid administration

• Gained exposure to clinical workflow, sterile technique, and image-guided musculoskeletal interventions

Garden Terrace at Houston Nursing Home

AY2024 — 2025

• Spent time at a nursing center shadowing staff and learning how they care for elderly residents

• Talked with residents regularly and got to know their stories and personalities

• Helped lead games and activities to keep residents active and entertained
